Sports

P.E. at Hayes Park School is an area of strength and a subject that we strongly promote. Our P.E. curriculum is delivered by teachers and specialist sports coaches. We are committed to being a healthier, happier school.

As well as the curriculum provision, we also have a wide range of teams competing in a plethora of competitions. This includes intra and inter school competitions, and A, B and C teams where possible.

Information on fixtures can be found here.

Our extra-curricular programme also provides the children with numerous sporting and fitness opportunities.

Sports Premium

At Hayes Park School we believe PE & Sport plays an important role in making our vision statement a reality for every pupil, with the potential to change young people’s lives for the better. We have welcomed the Government’s announcement in June 2013 to provide additional funding for 2 years to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools. We are committed to using this resource in developing high quality PE lessons, alongside greater opportunities for sporting competitions and clubs for all our young people. Sport Premium Grant Funding for schools will be calculated by the number of primary aged pupils (between the ages of 5 and 11) as at the annual census in January 2013. All schools with 17 or more primary aged pupils will receive a lump sum of £8,000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil. Smaller schools will receive £500 per pupil.

Department for Education Vision for the primary PE and Sport Premium

ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation on physical activity and sport.

The Sport Premium expects to see an impact in these five areas:

  1. the engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting healthy active lifestyles
  2. the profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement
  3. increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport
  4. broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils
  5. increased participation in competitive sport
