Hayes Park School

Our Governors

Hayes Park School has Staff, Parent, Co-Opted and Partnership Governors.

The Governing Body at Hayes Park School is made up of a diverse group of individuals who have all taken a keen interest in the school. We come with professional experience in the fields of construction, health, finance, human resources and education. Working closely with the Headteacher and senior staff, our duties include agreeing policies; monitoring the school’s educational performance and results; agreeing budgets and financial arrangements to make sure that money is well spent and acting as a ‘critical friend’ to the school’s leadership team, ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.

We take into account the views of parents, carers, staff and children, collectively working together to make Hayes Park School an inclusive community for all.

In order to fulfil some of our duties, we divide into two sub-committees: one dealing with finance, premises, health & safety and administration, the other focused on academic matters and pastoral care. Our meetings are held on a regular basis, both during school hours and evenings. We also form working parties which deal with issues that are too large to be dealt with in a committee meeting, such as the school’s admission arrangements. Additionally, we meet with the Headteacher, members of the Senior Leadership Team and representatives from the Local Authority to discuss topical matters when required.

If you have any specific skills that you think may benefit the school then we are always happy to hear from you. If you are interested in becoming a Governor and supporting our school, or wish to raise any other issue then please contact Mrs R Weymouth, Clerk to the Governors, via the school office email.
