Hayes Park School

WellBeing

Welcome to WellBeing!

Wellbeing is a huge priority at Hayes Park, and so we now have a dedicated page where we can share helpful information.

At Hayes Park School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. We have a supportive and caring ethos and our approach is respectful and kind, where each individual and contribution is valued. At our school we know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play.

We use a therapeutic thinking approach, which is a theory driven, psychologically informed, whole-school approach focusing on how children are supported, particularly in terms of their SEND, emotional wellbeing, behaviour and mental health.

The DENN is our wellbeing hub. 'The DENN' stands for:
Developing

Education through

Nurture and

Nature
It is a safe space for all,  manned by Mrs Smith (our Learning Mentor), a place to come for support, advice and nurture.  Mrs Smith runs a host of sessions e.g. transition groups, self-esteem groups, drawing for talking and many more...
